Jillian Wilson-Martin – Values

AIE’s mission to create an inclusive, clean energy economy is a meaningful one that clearly resonates across their dedicated and diverse team. Internally, they deliver on this by hiring, fostering and promoting staff who represent a range of backgrounds, speak multiple languages, and have direct experience working with “overlooked communities”.

But their commitment and impact reaches far beyond the walls of their organization. As consultants to more than 30 municipalities, they help their clients live these values too. In Natick alone, AIE has helped us: recruit more diverse candidates for energy outreach positions, prioritize language accessibility in our communications, deepen our understanding of the barriers Environmental Justice neighborhoods face in accessing clean energy and climate programs, and better target and build connections with these residents.

Most recently, AIE helped Natick promote and host an energy assistance fair focused on low income residents by developing trilingual mailers in English, Spanish, and Portuguese on weatherization and insulation, crafting our message to reflect our diverse community and providing on-site translation services. The event was a huge success and we are now in the process of replicating it this fall.
